Honda is bringing the Civic four-door saloon to the UK market in the next few months.
The Turkish-built car is expected to be in dealer forecourts from August with both petrol and diesel powertrains on offer.
The petrol option on offer will be the 1.0-litre i-VTEC, paired with a CVT or manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel will also be available with the manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic.
The new Civic four-door saloon is wider, longer and lower than any previous generations, and features a short front overhang and taut lines to aid aerodynamic efficiency, while a sharp and aggressive face and pronounced wheel arches give a sporty aesthetic.
The result of the larger body is a more spacious interior with an uncomplicated layout. The seating position is lower and there is more passenger and luggage space on offer than before.
The model is a big step forward for Honda in the C-segment and has been subject to the largest single model global development programme in the brand’s history.
Phil Webb, head of car at Honda UK, commented: “The Civic is a core model for Honda in Europe and has been at the heart of the brand’s strong sales and manufacturing heritage, with the hatchback built in Swindon.
“The arrival of the saloon to the UK market compliments the Civic family and will be a great addition to our showrooms alongside what is already a very successful range for Honda.”
