Wolfhound’s hybrid population in Europe is growing. In a new document, scientists warn that wolf noodles can immediately remove the genetic identification of wolves.
“We must address this problem before addressing hybrid methods as far as wolf populations for hybrid herds and conservation of wild populations are lost, insofar as the wolf population is lost,” said ecologist Valerio Donfranchesko at the University of Exeter in a press release.
According to recent research, part of the problem is a lack of information and a lack of agreement – the level of detail and the severity of the problem – among scientists.
“The fact that we only know a little about the ecology, behavior and social acceptance of the additional layers of hybrid wolf dogs is a concern for this problem,” said Donfranchesko.
Scientists and politicians still disagree about how to deal with the problem of hybrids and freedom dogs. Some researchers recommend capturing wild animals and wolves. Others say that sterilization is the best solution. Some say they are the only way of effective control.
“Disagreement arises because of the different ethical values between scientists from various fields, such as ecologists and genetics because of the lack of data on the effectiveness of various interventions and concerns of some scientists who would allow hybrid extraction to open the gap to the law of killing wolves , “Donfrancoche said.
However, the authors of the latest study, published in Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution, warn that avoiding problems won’t make the problem disappear. Scientists hope that with their disagreement through discussion, they will reach a consensus on the urgency of the problem and begin to put pressure on those involved to solve the problem.
Because populations of wolves of various sizes are found throughout Europe – and the total population of more than 17,000 people – the problem will require input and collaboration from various researchers and decision makers.
“We hope that by highlighting the areas of disagreement and their causes, we can build a uniform scientific opinion and support efficient management of these urgent problems,” Donfranchesko said.
